It is a lightweight and robust alternative to traditional metal shackles, such as D-rings and carabiners. Soft shackles are often used in sailing, camping, off-roading, and other activities where secure connections are needed.</div><div><br /></div><div>Here are some key characteristics and uses of soft shackles:</div><div><br /></div><div>1. Material: Soft shackles are typically made from high-strength synthetic materials like Dyneema or Amsteel. These materials are known for their excellent strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to UV rays and moisture.</div><div><br /></div><div>2. Design: Soft shackles consist of a closed-loop design, with a knot or splice at one end and a thimble or eye at the other. The loop can be passed through an attachment point or object, and the thimble is used for connection.</div><div><br /></div><div>3. Strength: Soft shackles are designed to be incredibly strong and can have a breaking strength comparable to traditional metal shackles of similar size. They are commonly used in applications where high strength is required.</div><div><br /></div><div>4. Lightweight: Soft shackles are significantly lighter than their metal counterparts, which is beneficial when weight is a concern, such as sailing or backpacking.</div><div><br /></div><div>5. Safety: In some situations, soft shackles are considered safer than metal shackles. They do not have sharp edges that can damage equipment or cause injury if they are accidentally released.</div><div><br /></div><div>6. Versatility: Soft shackles can be used in various situations, including connecting ropes, attaching gear, or securing loads. They are commonly used in sailing for attaching sails, lines, and hardware.</div><div><br /></div><div>7. Easy to Inspect: Soft shackles are relatively easy to inspect for wear and damage because they lack moving parts and are made from synthetic materials.</div><div><br /></div><div>8. Knots and Splices: Soft shackles are often created with specific knots or splices that maximize their strength and durability. Knowledge of these knots and splices is essential for effectively making and using soft shackles.</div><div><br /></div><div>Soft shackles have become increasingly popular in outdoor and marine activities due to their combination of strength, weight savings, and safety. When using soft shackles, following manufacturer guidelines and ensuring they are correctly loaded and secured to prevent accidents and injuries is essential.</div><div><br /></div>Aaron Usiskinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07032709166435395987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12945441.post-84187567562205244702023-07-28T08:22:00.006-04:002023-07-28T08:22:30.795-04:00Long Beach Island NJ<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEirahemH-6jm3pJr8MKcYn_TjtLFSoNcmyeSJg6ZtkRJ3-6CmIL9zs2aqh8xaQTEzVqlIGjVa5r-k8xZp5YfbGhSfT-_L4e2CILijlCCb4SvmuOqdYOOp9Q1UVFjy1ssXloLAdfEDAkLYH-uwKu7oydFkhjVbc5G6Zepu78u7Cr65DWzu9zf3nd" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEirahemH-6jm3pJr8MKcYn_TjtLFSoNcmyeSJg6ZtkRJ3-6CmIL9zs2aqh8xaQTEzVqlIGjVa5r-k8xZp5YfbGhSfT-_L4e2CILijlCCb4SvmuOqdYOOp9Q1UVFjy1ssXloLAdfEDAkLYH-uwKu7oydFkhjVbc5G6Zepu78u7Cr65DWzu9zf3nd" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiaCG7tUgcQNStjmjK4wmeCDca7Dxbolq7aqgCdBTBLgHp3zkoGvltBK1wYVLusW2o73EXvu8pNWHizvTe7BAVE2qHkcMPamOYdCPGtnHLjkfcmaT8ddUYjJNIXnOxhWuuvTM_O4SzQgQid5yI5nrlvtLFXVIR8VTHVWz98LuyIgDsitfucwBA3" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiaCG7tUgcQNStjmjK4wmeCDca7Dxbolq7aqgCdBTBLgHp3zkoGvltBK1wYVLusW2o73EXvu8pNWHizvTe7BAVE2qHkcMPamOYdCPGtnHLjkfcmaT8ddUYjJNIXnOxhWuuvTM_O4SzQgQid5yI5nrlvtLFXVIR8VTHVWz98LuyIgDsitfucwBA3" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj9CZqyqeajbiCwCGW5kyVA5qNVPQZ2iTI6TBCX12nb9Na5MuEsYIzeS_MJbguxuXcFQhciEXhkzAmSE-gb0vat_6V1c-M1bItyDfZPd8zRwVqClagfQ9-CgIj4eDiZsIKZ36GiBWueeNAVSaxTeRM-RGxP3VH-jXmcNv9i9mXa-38QAuS-Zx1W" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj9CZqyqeajbiCwCGW5kyVA5qNVPQZ2iTI6TBCX12nb9Na5MuEsYIzeS_MJbguxuXcFQhciEXhkzAmSE-gb0vat_6V1c-M1bItyDfZPd8zRwVqClagfQ9-CgIj4eDiZsIKZ36GiBWueeNAVSaxTeRM-RGxP3VH-jXmcNv9i9mXa-38QAuS-Zx1W" width="240" /></a></div><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I have lived in NJ my whole life. This is my first e-board and I can say it is a blast. 15+ blocks 1 mile which used to take me 15-20 min. to walk now takes 5. I have been riding the <a class="" href="http://www.blitzarts.com/">Blitzart</a> board in NYC for about 2 months, 100+ miles and it is a solid board. Riding in NYC has its challenges and I feel it when riding. Going over rough terrain the motor skips, and you feel the vibration through the board. From block to block, the acceleration is a bit slow, you don't notice this until you have to start and stop at each light.<br />
<br />
When you travel long distances, over 3 miles, I could use a bit more power. Tornado Electric Longboard has a 3-month limited warranty. Any defects due to workmanship to the motor, battery and internal electronics are covered by this warranty. The warranty does not cover user damage. Extended warranty is also available. At $279 MSRP, it is a great board, for beginners. I'm ready to step it up and most people will want to after 100 miles.<br />
<br />
For kids, this is a great board.<br />

Specs: TORNADO Electric Longboards - Orange<br />
With my weight 160 pounds, the board does about 17 and close to 10 miles.<br />

<li style="box-sizing: border-box; font: inherit;">ERGONOMIC WIRELESS REMOTE - Easy to hold wireless remote that controls acceleration and deceleration with reverse capability. Two-speed modes to beginners and advanced riders. Hold function to assist in getting on and off the board. The remote control is rechargeable and comes with a wrist strap. </li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box; font: inherit;">MAPLE WOOD + BAMBOO DECK & PREMIUM GRIP TAPE - The 6-ply maple wood deck sandwiched between a layer of bamboo on the top and bottom of the board giving it more flexibility and sturdiness. The deck is outfitted with grip tape and is concave to keep the rider's feet firmly in place and stay on the board. Supports up a max weight of 300 lb.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box; font: inherit;">350W BRUSHLESS HUB-MOTOR - Hub Motor vs Belt Drive Motor? Hub motors are more reliable and less problematic. Our hub motors give the board an aesthetically pleasing appearance to the overall design. Hub-motors are much quieter than belt driven motors. More importantly, the hub motors board can be kicked like a regular board with or without battery. </li>

<br />
This hands down has to be the single most important piece of equipment that has come out in quite some time.<br />
In my mind, this is not just for surfing, this is for all water sports, or at least most.<br />
<br />
The Quiksilver Highline Airlift vest is designed for use by experienced adult surfers. Using it successfully requires strong swimming skills, ocean knowledge, collaboration with other surfers and lifeguards, and like the rest of your equipment — it must be cared for and used correctly. Proper use of the vest requires adherence to manufacturer’s instructions.<br />
<br />
The Airlift vest is a safety tool, not a performance enhancer. Do not take greater risks while using this vest.<br />
<br />
A new generation of big wave riding demands a new generation of water safety. That’s where the Airlift vest comes in. A culmination of years worth of research and development, the neoprene vest utilizes carbon-dioxide cartridges to help bring the wearer to the surface in heavy hold-down situations. It’s an innovative product designed for innovative surfing at the world’s heaviest waves.<br />

Overtake your competition with this revolutionary helmet. Providing maximum ventilation, superior aerodynamics, and improved protection, the Overtake is the ultimate racing helmet and a must have for any cyclist, in any event. Integrating proprietary technologies with best-in-class protection options, the AEROCORE™ construction featuring Koroyd® and MIPS® optional linings make the Overtake your ticket to ride.<br />
<br />
Smith's objective and design philosophy behind AEROCORE™ construction is to increase airflow, improve temperature regulation resulting in fog-free vision and improve impact resistance. The objective was achieved through the combination of materials such as EPS and Koroyd®, a revolutionary new material that absorbs more energy upon impact when compared to international standards while increasing airflow. AEROCORE™ construction through the use of Koroyd® and EPS allows for more vents to be placed throughout the helmet without sacrificing protection and comfort.Aaron Usiskinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07032709166435395987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12945441.post-76809936892917636002017-06-30T11:56:00.002-04:002017-06-30T11:56:57.119-04:00World's first smartwatch you never have to rechargeMy Former Cross Country coach, mentor, friend and all around great guy, Steven Gingo, turned me onto this watch.

Introducing the world’s first smartwatch powered by your body heat. <a href="https://www.matrixindustries.com/">Matrix Powerwatch</a>.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The MATRIX PowerWatch is the world’s first smartwatch that you never have to charge. Powered by your body heat, it measures calories burned, activity level, and sleep using our advanced thermoelectric technology. It is the only smartwatch to feature a power meter which displays how much electrical power you are generating.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.altrarunning.com/cmsstatic/iq-header-1440-6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="240" data-original-width="800" height="96" src="https://www.altrarunning.com/cmsstatic/iq-header-1440-6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Everything is trying to connect your life and what you do. Nike tried this 10+ years ago, now <a href="https://www.altrarunning.com/">Altra Running</a> is integrating the electronics into the shoe itself. The price itself is a bit steep, but if you carry your phone and want to analyze every step you take this is the shoe to wear. <br />
<br />
Impact Rate:<br />
The Altra IQ's dual shoe sensors allow you to monitor how hard you hit the ground with each step. The app provides a view of your overall impact rate as well as your left to right balance, providing you with the live data and coaching tips that you need to react mid run, and ultimately helping you to become a lighter, more efficient, and balanced runner.<br />
<br />
Cadence:<br />
Cadence is the live "pulse" of your run and a key factor in your form, foot strike, and efficiency. Our live cadence tracking and timely coaching tips will help you keep your turnover at the appropriate rate for your current running pace, helping you become a more fluid running machine.<br />
<br />
Ground Contact Time:<br />
Ground Contact Time (GCT) is the amount of time each individual foot spends on the ground during your stride. GCT is a great informational metric to use in coordination with cadence and impact force/balance, helping you find the best stride for your body geometry.<br />
<br />
Live Coaching:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Virtually undetectable, razor-thin sensors are embedded in each of the shoe’s midsoles</li>
<li>Live run-data is sent from the quad accelerometers to the Altra IQ App to be analyzed</li>
<li>Just like a coach, the IQ experience monitors your movements and provides real-time coaching and feedback to improve and streamline your running technique.</li>
</ul>
<br />
This of course is just an app, now pair with shoes and BAM you have all the features live, however you must run with your phone.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.altrarunning.com/cmsstatic/AFM1737Q_GrayYellow-2-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="316" data-original-width="531" height="190" src="https://www.altrarunning.com/cmsstatic/AFM1737Q_GrayYellow-2-2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Altra Running<br />
"We've taken the Torin, our best-selling road shoe, and added IQ technology to provide you with live feedback on foot strike, cadence, impact rate and contact time. The Torin IQ's razor-thin footbed sensors provide onboard coaching to help you improve your technique and form on-the-run. The updated reflective upper and asymmetrical lacing allow you to enjoy your run in comfort and safety. This neutral workhorse has a 28 mm stack height and a smooth, forgiving, plush ride thanks to the responsive A-Bound™ compound in the midsole. Let your foot biomechanics work freely with the combination of the toe-wiggling FootShape™ toe box and the natural foot positioning allowed by the fully cushioned ZeroDrop™ platform."<br />
<br />
At <a href="https://www.altrarunning.com/men/torin-iq">$220</a>, you have to be serious.<br />

Every year, new stuff comes out, this never changes. Technology get faster, more expensive, gear gets lighter, and more colorful.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://gearpatrol.com/2017/05/31/fathers-day-gift-guide-active-dad/">Gear Patrol</a> does a great job at finding all these. For Fathers day, they put a list together that is quite reasonable.<br />
<br />
Ibex Pulse Short<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://cdn.gearpatrol.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/father-day-active-dad-gear-patrol-ibex-970x650.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="536" data-original-width="800" height="214" src="https://cdn.gearpatrol.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/father-day-active-dad-gear-patrol-ibex-970x650.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
For $68 this is a great deal and a piece of equipment that will last well beyond the sneakers he got last week. They have a merino wool liner that is bacteria resistant, breathable and moisture wicking.<br />
<br />

In my eyes it is never good to be late, in <a href="http://www.newbalance.com/runiq/?ICID=IMAGERUNIQPRE_H1_R_0105">New Balance's</a> and Intel, it might have been the best thing. Seeing the mistakes and bad <a href="http://aaronusiskin.com/">UX/UI</a> from other companies, they seem to have made a pretty good watch at a GREAT price point $300 is amazing.<br />

Coming from <a href="https://www.engadget.com/2017/01/04/casio-s-second-smartwatch-comes-with-android-wear-2-0/">Engadget</a>!<br />
<div class="o-article_block pb-15 pb-5@m- o-subtle_divider" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; background-color: white; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; color: #2b2d32; font-family: sans-serif; margin: 0px; padding: 35px 0px 15px; position: relative;">
<div class="grid@tl+" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px -40px; padding: 0px;">
<div class="grid@tl+__cell col-8-of-12@tl+" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; display: inline-block; font-size: medium; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 40px; vertical-align: top; width: 680px;">
<div class="article-text c-gray-1" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: "Guardian TextEgyp", serif !important; font-size: 18px; line-height: 30px; margin: 0px; padding: 15px 0px 5px;">

Casio's second watch doesn't look much different than the outdoor smartwatch it revealed <a href="https://www.engadget.com/2016/01/05/casios-first-smartwatch-is-an-even-more-rugged-g-shock/" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; background-color: transparent; border-bottom-color: currentcolor; border-image: initial; border-left-color: inherit; border-right-color: inherit; border-style: inherit; border-top-color: inherit; border-width: 0px 0px 1px; box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none;">at last year's CES</a>. However, the software brains inside the ruggedized timepiece have been given a strong nudge forward. This is <a href="https://www.engadget.com/2016/12/22/android-wear-2-0-flagship-watches/" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; background-color: transparent; border-bottom-color: currentcolor; border-image: initial; border-left-color: inherit; border-right-color: inherit; border-style: inherit; border-top-color: inherit; border-width: 0px 0px 1px; box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none;">one of the first</a> Android Wear 2.0 devices to surface, over half a year since we first got to play with Google's <a href="https://www.engadget.com/2016/05/18/android-wear-2-0-google-io-announcement/" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; background-color: transparent; border-bottom-color: currentcolor; border-image: initial; border-left-color: inherit; border-right-color: inherit; border-style: inherit; border-top-color: inherit; border-width: 0px 0px 1px; box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none;">retooled wearable OS</a>. The watch -- designed for outdoors types -- also comes equipped with low-power GPS and color maps that can be downloaded offline for true outdoorsmen and women. You <em style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">will</em> survive.</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="js-notMobileReferredByFbTw" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; background-color: white; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; color: #2b2d32; font-family: sans-serif; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">
<div class="o-article_block pb-15 pb-5@m- mt-n35 mt-n25@m mt-n15@s" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; margin: -35px 0px 0px; padding: 35px 0px 15px;">
<div class="grid@tl+" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px -40px; padding: 0px;">
<div class="full-width@tp- grid@tl+__cell col-8-of-12@tl+" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; display: inline-block; font-size: medium; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 40px; vertical-align: top; width: 680px;">
<div class="article-text c-gray-1 no-review" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: "Guardian TextEgyp", serif !important; font-size: 18px; line-height: 30px; margin: 0px; padding: 15px 0px 5px;">
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 30px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 15px 0px 5px;">
Yep, as we said earlier, the design is very similar to the original. Casio has, however, added button guards and a new protective bezel -- important when your outdoors watch costs a few hundred dollars. For usability while wrestling bears or kayaking for your life, the buttons are now different sizes to help differentiate while using it.</div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 30px; margin-bottom: 25px; margin-top: 35px; padding: 15px 0px 5px;">
App-wise, Casio has further developed the things its Pro-Trek watch does best, with fishing, hiking and cycling features all well represented.</div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; border-color: inherit; border-image: initial; border-style: inherit; border-width: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 30px; margin-bottom: 25px; margin-top: 35px; padding: 15px 0px 5px;">

<br />
We are passionate photographers, travelers, commuters, creators, and explorers, and we needed a pack that could keep up with our adventurous lifestyle. But we also wanted it to look incredible, and the perfect combination of style and function wasn't out there, so we decided to make it.<br />
<br />
When we set out, our goal wasn't just to create a great travel and camera bag. We wanted to encourage others to stop focusing on the monotony of daily life and to really live.<br />
<br />
A great bag does more than carry your stuff. A great bag evokes action and facilitates adventure, all while being so intuitive, you forget it's even there.<br />
<br />
No matter what you're doing, we build each bag with one purpose – to help you focus on the moment.<br />
<br />
And that is why we offer:<br />
<br />
Limited Lifetime Warranty – We stand behind our products. If there is a manufacturer defect, we will fix or replace it for free!<br />
<br />
30 Day Return Policy – We get it, sometimes you need to sleep on it. And we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. That's why we have given you 30 days to change your mind and return what you bought. Just email us at returns@wandrd.com and we'll have you send the items back to us (with the tags still attached).<br />
<br />
High Quality and Innovative Gear – We promise not to be content with mediocrity. We will only use the highest quality materials and will constantly look for ways to improve. In fact, we would love to hear your feedback and ideas for making our products even better. Email us at suggestions@wandrd.com.<br />

Sometimes a better mousetrap come along, with bike transportation, this happens every year or so. Everyone trying to make it easier, quicker and the ability to handle multiple bikes. I love roof mounted bike racks, they have their downfalls, mostly, garages. <a href="http://upsideracks.com/">UpSide</a> seems to have something pretty good. If you already have a factory roof rack or aftermarket, you do all the work on the ground, lift it up and twist to secure it to your car. </div>
