Stress Less, Stress Eraser
We all need it no matter what we think, having a device that I can look at to see my stress level would be great. With the StressEraser, you can calm your mind and relax your body whenever you want, wherever you go, whether you are spending time at home, working on the job, lying in bed, coping with difficult events or flying on a plane, you can take your StressEraser with you. Here is how it works, put your index finger in the sensor clip located on the top of the unit, the StressEraser uses a medical-grade pulse meter to measure your pulse. After that you let the unit do its thing, there is a whole tutorial on calming the mind, relaxing the body. The StressEraser is not a bad idea, people tell me when I gt stressed that a little vien starts to pop out on my head, I guess that is my tell.

LifeStraw is a water purification tool developed by Vestergaard Frandsen. LifeStraw has a life time of 700 litres or up to 1 year. Positive test results have been achieved on tap, turbid and saline water against common waterborne bacteria such as Salmonella, Shigella, Enterococcus and Staphylococcus.... A mouth full.. Well what this does for $2 dollars yes two dollars it will provide a person with safe drinking water for a year, give or take a month. This incredible and invented for use in third world countries but can you see the possibilities. For those of you considering using LifeStraw for outdoor adventures in the continental United States, beware that the common "beaver fever" (Giardia lamblia infection) is caused by an organism with 5 micron spores, which are resistant to iodine.

ICE--In case of emergency, dial 'ICE
It's time for a public service announcement, if you are into sports and extreme sports you should know this little tidbit that is circulating around the web, the idea is that you store the word "ICE" in your mobile phone address book, and against it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency".
In an emergency situation, ambulance and hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them.

Gmaps Pedometer
I keep saying it but the ideas/technology that keep coming out is incredible. This is a great one using the Gmaps from google. It works better in a city setting than in rural NJ.
What is this?
This is a little hack that uses Google's superb mapping application to help record distances traveled during a running or walking workout.
This is from Suen and Paul (not me) I thought that they should have a plug since they are the ones that made this Gmaps app.
Why?
Join the Fight: I'm raising funds for the American Cancer Society with my entry in the Chicago Marathon. Help me out by making a donation!
Note: This site is free. I added my fundraising link since I knew I would find like-minded folks here, but there's no obligation.
NEW!

Helmet Cam
Simple and Sweet. This helmet cam from Viosport I spotted about 5 or 6 years ago, and should have gotten it then. I was racing almost every weekend and it would have helped me and my buddy Rick on finding the right lines and scouting the course. Well now they have 4 different products and one that you can use under water. It hooks up to your existing camcorder, that fits into your pack and then strap's to the helmet. The Adventure Cam 3 kit includes.
-Coveted Sony Ex-View® CCD and the power of Viosport behind it.
-5 optional lenses allow a wide range of both telephoto and wide-angle views. (sold separately) Compare FOV
-5 levels of Neutral Density (sun) filters will eliminate that purple snow due to filming in extremely bright conditions. (sold separately)
-Newly designed 5-ft coiled cable provides strain relief and keeps your cord in check.
-Patent Pending A/V cable includes a high gain integrated microphone.
A great value at $330.00 VioSport

Innovative Personal Altitude Simulator
No tent or chamber needed, this is a pretty cool device and seems as though it could work. Without having to sleeping in a chamber you can see the benifits of hypoxics by watching TV, reading a book, working on the computer by just wearing this device. AltiPower® is an innovative personal altitude simulator. A device that naturally enhances the performance and endurance of athletes, pre-acclimatises people travelling to altitude and improves the health and wellbeing of ordinary people.
How it works:
The air we breath in contains approximately 21% oxygen (by volume).
The air we exhale normally contains ¼ less oxygen compared to that inhaled, as well as moisture and carbon dioxide.
The AltiPower Personal Hypoxicator uses your own natural breathing process to produce reduced oxygen (hypoxic) air. Continuous breathing using AltiPower, with its patented, semi-closed, respiratory circuit, gradually decreases the oxygen content of the breathing air. This replicates the conditions of high altitude and with it, the benefits of alpine-like air. Price $1200
