CrossFit Changing How We Use Fitness!

CrossFit has come on strong, been around for quite sometime, but with the games it really has been taken to a new level. Who is the fittest, I had the opportunity to go through a Level 1 Training class, listen to the speeches, read the manual and see what it takes to be CrossFit, more than you think. I am an endurance athlete, what changes for me is the weight, not even the heavy stuff,  push-up, sit-up, pull-ups, running, biking, rowing, nice, now add that to a doing a "Cindy", what or who is "Cindy", well your maker:

"Cindy"
Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats

Humbling!

Every class is a competition, battling with the class or against yourself. Type A, well you will do both. Problem for endurance athletes are as follows, we are weak, very weak in part of our bodies neglected by years of individual training, BAD, very bad. You can dive full into CF and get a ton out of it, you will be faster, stronger and overall fitter than just swim, bike, run.

CrossFit begins with a belief in fitness. The aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness. We have sought to build a program that will best prepare trainees for any physical contingency — not only for the unknown, but for the unknowable. After looking at all sport and physical tasks collectively, we asked what physical skills and adaptations would most universally lend themselves to performance advantage. Capacity culled from the intersection of all sports demands would quite logically lend itself well to all sport. In sum, our specialty is not specializing.

CrossFit Endurance CrossFit Endurance is an endurance sports training program dedicated to improving performance, fitness and endurance sports potential. We inspire, coach, and provide our community with the most aggressive and proven fundamentals of sports science, exercise physiology, nutrition and athletic training protocols. We are the leaders in strength and conditioning for endurance athletes. We have been guiding athletes, educating coaches and providing premier content to the endurance communities with tremendous success. Our passion is endurance sports. Our goal is to show a path that has not been illuminated. Our training principles work. We are not for everyone, only for those who want to have a home in which they can grow both mentally and physically as an athlete to realize their chosen potential.

Power and speed are critical components to success in the endurance world. With careful planning, our strength and conditioning plan increases these two mainstays of performance while decreasing recovery time, reducing injury, promoting preservation of lean tissue and creating a more sustainable performance curve.

We focus on eliminating unnecessary volume of training while increasing intensity. Our programming is structured, sport-specific and seamlessly integrated with Olympic lifts, powerlifting, gymnastics movements, explosive activity and mobility-based support. Everything we do focuses on midline stabilization and working from the inside out.

Our strength and conditioning approach for endurance athletes is unparalleled. We incorporate the CrossFit fundamentals of being constantly varied. Repetition is the enemy and results in a decreased ability to build fitness.

Make no doubt, our program is not easy, but we believe the journey is part of making the results more rewarding. Our design is to maximize you as an athlete and to elevate your fitness.

Our commitment to you is that we will coach, inspire, lead and educate with care, sincerity and a relentless motivation to finally get you where you want to go!

Automatic - Your Smart Driving Assistant

Ever wanted to see how your car is doing without having to take it to the deal, welcome Automatic!

Driving Feedback

Automatic learns about your driving style and gives you subtle audio cues when you do things that waste gas, like:
Rough Braking
Braking abruptly decreases fuel efficiency and dramatically increases wear-and-tear on your car’s brake pads.
Speeding
Speeding doesn't save as much time as you might think, but driving 10 MPH over the speed limit reduces fuel1efficiency by 12-15%.
Rapid Acceleration
Stepping hard on the gas pedal decreases fuel efficiency and wastes money.
Automatic shows how you're doing on every trip.

Drive Score

Automatic scores your driving every week to help you improve. A high score could save you hundreds on gas every year.

Trip Timeline

The Automatic app displays detailed info about your week, like how much you drive and where.
See the actual MPGs for all your trips, even for older cars that don't display fuel efficiency on the dashboard.
Automatic also detects* fill-ups and even tracks local gas prices to show you how much you're spending.

Its a wonderful thing!

MIT and US Army crafting uniforms with full-body fiberoptic sensors

Seems as though tracking your heart rate is not enough, now the military and MIT are thinking about tracking just a bit more of our soldiers.
Militaries want soldiers to carry an increasing amount of tech on to the battlefield, but that isn't necessarily convenient -- or comfortable. MIT and the US Army have started early work on uniforms with fiberoptic sensors that would alleviate much of that burden. By weaving in microfibers cut from a mix of specialized, fluidized materials, the partnership can build data links that cover the entire body without breaking or adding significant bulk. They could serve as basic elements of a communication system, but MIT has broader ambitions: the sensors could track wounds through heat signatures, and just might prevent friendly fire incidents by sending a don't-shoot signal when targeted with a laser sight. The fibers still have to get much thinner before the Army can offer smart uniforms as standard issue, but the wearable tech may keep soldiers nimble and, just possibly, save a few lives.

i'm here, GPS Tracking!

Things are getting smaller, and easier to hide or carry on a person. The i'm here is great, if you have children and want to give them a little freedom, while keeping your sanity. The world is a crazy place, why be tied down.

i’m Here is the most innovative and accurate GPS tracker the world has ever seen: a latest generation device able to locate anything or pinpoint your position upon demand or at regular intervals. It is so compact that you can take it everywhere and it can cover all your needs. Get your hands on it, available in seven different colors! i’m Here’s technology is simple and efficient: from your smartphone you connect to i’m Cloud, which asks the device to find its position. Once identified, it shows you its location on Google Maps. Using latest generation technology, i’m Here is able to transmit its location anywhere in the world. Its secret?

i’m Here uses its integrated SIM to access the global GSM mobile network to transmit its position. It does this upon demand, if you ask it via the i’m Cloud service, or automatically at pre-set intervals. This is useful, for example, when sailing or hiking alone, when you want to let others know your position or when you’ve finished and want to analyze your route. And in the pocket or on the wrist of your child, it becomes an invaluable safety device.

At $170 it is a deal, what it does not say if there is an additional cost. Wait and see.

Cruise Control: Run Automatically Matches Music to Your Running Pace

This is pretty good, slow down and the play list slows down as well, speed up, well you guessed it faster beat. This would work well with one of my ideas InSendtive.

Get ready to rock your run! Part coach and part dance partner, Cruise Control produces magical running experiences. It adjusts your music in real-time to control your running and keep you on track to hit your target pace, heart rate, or cadence. We call it Cruise Control because it works a lot like cruise control in your car - you set your target, and the music will keep adjusting its rhythm, just like the car adjusts its throttle, to get you to your target and keep you there.

But Cruise Control is way more fun than pushing a button in your car! Imagine flying down the trail at exactly the speed you want, with every beat of every playlist song synchronized to your footfalls. It feels like your favorite band is right there with you, timing their kick drum to drive you faster and further. When we use it, we always get “Cruise Control Moments” - irrepressible smiles that stretch from ear to ear, outbursts of singing, and even some high-fiving of random dog walkers. Yeah, you can look a little goofy, but it sure feels great.

Under the hood of Cruise Control is some serious science. Researchers from the Locomotion Lab at Simon Fraser University used a combination of human experiments and control theory to develop algorithms that control your running speed and intensity in real-time. They filed patents, we licensed the technology, and together we built this App. * Patents Pending*
---------
There are 4 ways to Cruise Control your run:

FREE RUN: A good place to start! Just go for a run and the rhythm of the music will adjust to match your running rhythm. Automatically.

PACE: Pick a target speed and go! As long as you match your steps to the rhythm of the music, the music will get you to your target speed and keep you there. How accurately? Our lab tests show that the average pacing error is less than 1%.

HEART RATE: Pick a target heart rate and go! Just like Pace Mode, as long as you match your steps to the rhythm of the music, the music will drive you to your heart rate goal. Our lab tests found that, on average, the measured heart rate is within 2 beats per minute of the target. Of course, you will need a Heart Rate Monitor for this mode.

CADENCE: Special order for the 90 strides per minute junkies! Pick a target stride rate and Cruise Control will adjust all your songs to play at the same tempo. This mode is also great for showing off how our algorithms can change music tempo without changing music pitch. No Alvin, Simon and Theodore here!

iSamrtAlarm - Keep your home and family safe

Making security affordable is important, many of us are paying services fees, monthly fees, set up fees and 90% of the time we are less than 10 miles from home. There has been those times that it has happened that you are away and your security companies calls you because the alarm is going off, that is rare.

We all have smart phone, I would rather pay the local police departments or municipalities a yearly fee for them to react when the alarm goes off. Now I am not sure how many false alarms there are in each city, I am sure it is not enough to turn down the money.

It seems as though there are more and more companies making Alarm systems affordable. Hey give me a  load siren, iPhone viewing capabilities and remote shutdown, sensors on the doors and I believe that is enough to keep people away.

iSmart Alarm Inc. was founded in Silicon Valley in 2012 on the principles of safety, beauty, and intelligence. We designed and developed the best smartphone-enabled home security and home control system. Our products are cool, simple to use, and affordable to everyone. We protect your home intelligently!

To be the world leader in affordable, expandable, and innovative home technology and home security. To make your everyday life safer and more convenient.

Now this is the part that I like!
All devices are mobile and easy to use, no 3-year contracts and no monthly fees, customizable and expandable.

Every Parent Who Gives Their Kid an iPhone Should Make Their Kid Follow These 18 Rules

So everyone that has a kid and is or has given them a phone should consider some if not all these rules. An iPad should be considered as well. f Janell Hofmann wrote these when she gave her 13 year-old son his/her iPhone.

Every Parent Who Gives Their Kid an iPhone Should Make Their Kid Follow These 18 Rules

1. It is my phone. I bought it. I pay for it. I am loaning it to you. Aren't I the greatest?
2. I will always know the password.
3. If it rings, answer it. It is a phone. Say hello, use your manners. Do not ever ignore a phone call if the screen reads "Mom" or "Dad". Not ever.
4. Hand the phone to one of your parents promptly at 7:30pm every school night & every weekend night at 9:00pm. It will be shut off for the night and turned on again at 7:30am. If you would not make a call to someone's land line, wherein their parents may answer first, then do not call or text. Listen to those instincts and respect other families like we would like to be respected.
5. It does not go to school with you. Have a conversation with the people you text in person. It's a life skill. *Half days, field trips and after school activities will require special consideration.
6. If it falls into the toilet, smashes on the ground, or vanishes into thin air, you are responsible for the replacement costs or repairs. Mow a lawn, babysit, stash some birthday money. It will happen, you should be prepared.
7. Do not use this technology to lie, fool, or deceive another human being. Do not involve yourself in conversations that are hurtful to others. Be a good friend first or stay the hell out of the crossfire.
8. Do not text, email, or say anything through this device you would not say in person.
9. Do not text, email, or say anything to someone that you would not say out loud with their parents in the room. Censor yourself.
10. No porn. Search the web for information you would openly share with me. If you have a question about anything, ask a person ? preferably me or your father.
11. Turn it off, silence it, put it away in public. Especially in a restaurant, at the movies, or while speaking with another human being. You are not a rude person; do not allow the iPhone to change that.
12. Do not send or receive pictures of your private parts or anyone else's private parts. Don't laugh. Someday you will be tempted to do this despite your high intelligence. It is risky and could ruin your teenage/college/adult life. It is always a bad idea. Cyberspace is vast and more powerful than you. And it is hard to make anything of this magnitude disappear — including a bad reputation.
13. Don't take a zillion pictures and videos. There is no need to document everything. Live your experiences. They will be stored in your memory for eternity.
14. Leave your phone home sometimes and feel safe and secure in that decision. It is not alive or an extension of you. Learn to live without it. Be bigger and more powerful than FOMO — fear of missing out.
15. Download music that is new or classic or different than the millions of your peers that listen to the same exact stuff. Your generation has access to music like never before in history. Take advantage of that gift. Expand your horizons.
16. Play a game with words or puzzles or brain teasers every now and then.
17. Keep your eyes up. See the world happening around you. Stare out a window. Listen to the birds. Take a walk. Talk to a stranger. Wonder without googling.
18. You will mess up. I will take away your phone. We will sit down and talk about it. We will start over again. You & I, we are always learning. I am on your team. We are in this together.

Stick-n-find | Never lose your keys again!

With Stick-n-find

Never lose your keys again.

Find your Remote control.

Track your luggage.

An Amazing App
The Radar Screen displays all your devices within range.

You can tap the Sticker on the radar screen and decide if you would like it to Buzz, Flash the lights or do both.

Of course, because we don't really know direction, the radar Screen can only be used to approximate the distance of the Stick-N-Find to your phone, but not direction.

So once you have located on the Radar Screen a Sticker you would like to find, you start walking in a specific direction, and see if it gets closer or farther.
