North Face Apogee Jacket
If you are skiing 60+ days a year, in some pretty harsh conditions this jacket is for you. The North Face ApoGee Jacket.
Staying true to the styles of yesterday and encompassing the technology of today, the Steep Tech™ Apogee Jacket offers nearly invincible protection against winter's fury. Constructed with Kevlar®-reinforced shoulders for high-risk mountain descents, this burly jacket includes an array of technical features that athletes rely on for all-day use.
Designed in part with The North Face® athlete and extreme skiing pioneer, Scot Schmidt, the geometric Steep Tech™ logo (on torso) is derived form something Joseph Campbell (an American mythologist) used in his lectures. Schmidt says, “I believe he called it the ‘Sphere of the Physique’. It represents a healthy balance between the mind, body and soul. The outer circle represents the body. The center dot represents your soul. The line separates your ego from your source (soul).”
GymGym: The World's First Ergonomic Exercise Chair
From BeSportier
In today’s business climate, the average working adult will spend a minimum of eight hours a day seated at a desk in front of a computer. This stressful working climate is taking its toll on our health and well being.
Most people are never taught the proper seating posture and physically correct routines needed to avoid the repetitious movements that continually keep our bodies out of their proper alignment. The results cause a variety of chronic and acute physical health challenges including aches, pains and muscle stiffness that can over time grow into more serious problems, including:
1. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
2. Spinal Stenosis
3. Spondylosthesis
4. Generalized Disk Disease
The inactivity of remaining in a seated position throughout the day causes our muscles to weaken, our bones to thin and our limbic system (responsible for the body’s immunity to illness) to become sluggish and inefficient. Hours of sitting slows blood flow and can result in the formation of blood clots, known as deep vein thrombosis.
What affects the body also affects the mind. Prolonged physical discomfort results in increased mental stress, which can disrupt concentration, inhibits creativity and negatively affects our performance.
The solution? Gymygym - the world’s first ergonomic exercise chair designed for our modern lives.
What is ergonomics?
Ergonomics is the science of designing objects and tools to conform and work with the human body rather than against it.
And while the current crop of ergonomically designed office chairs represent an improvement over traditionally designed chairs, even with adjustments, their "one size fits all" approach represents outdated technology.
Until now.
The Future of Seating Technology
Because no two bodies are alike, the Gymygym’s patented flat bungee seating system is designed to specifically conform to you, the user, providing the perfect combination of give and support where you need it most while helping to eliminate the very serious physical issues caused from prolonged improper seating.
The custom constructed Gymygym Ergonomic Exercise Office Chair correctly positions the body to:
1. Relieve pressure on hips, lower back, neck and shoulders
2. Improve circulation
3. Promote proper alignment of the spine
Classic Looking Burton Boards retro 1983
Old School
New School
Nothing beats an old school look to the ones that started this sport 25+ years ago. The boards were heavy but it really felt like you were surfing. Back of the board was either a split tail or straight and unless you were in powder it was a bear to turn.
Burton teamed up with BCs Noboard crew to develop the No Fish Snowboard—a powder board designed to be used without those movement-hindering binding thingies. By using a grippy pad instead of bindings, the No Fish allows you to move around and ride like you were on a surfboard. Just like the Fish, this Burton board includes a fast Sintered WFO Vision base and responsive Powder Fly II wood core. The No Fish also uses an S-Rocker to combine standard and reverse-camber shapes for a unique ride on the white waves.

Low Tech, High Functionality!
Bike inner tubs. Recycling is something that just keeps getting beter. How many have you thrown away?
While medieval alchemists sought to turn lead into gold, we strive to turn useless stuff like blown-out inner tubes, old seatbelts and advertising banners into useful stuff like bags and wallets. Another word for this is upcycling. Recycling turns stuff into the same thing over and over again. Upcycling turns something of lesser value into something of greater value.
People say that “necessity is the mother of invention,” and that’s exactly the way Alchemy Goods got started. My messenger bag got stolen and I needed another one. But the perfect messenger bag eluded me.
There were always extra inner tubes lying around my apartment, and I realized that I could probably build the perfect bag out of stuff I already had. The first prototype was born on my home sewing machine. It wasn’t perfect, but it was exactly what I needed.
Soon, my friends wanted their own. Then local bike shops caught a glimpse and expressed interest. Each bag improved over the last. Thanks to my friends, demand grew and grew, which led to the founding of Alchemy Goods.
So to whoever it was that stole my bag...you were the inspiration for my imagination. Thank you.

Straight Razor, How Shaving Was Meant To Be.
A straight razor is a fixed blade razor, the most common men's razor until the 1950s when safety razors became widely available. Once you master the art of straight razor shaving, you will be able to get a far smoother shave than you can get from any modern method. However, shaving with a straight razor is dangerous and has a long learning curve. Even honing and stropping the straight razor require time and patience to learn; you need to acquire a certain touch to do it correctly. While you are climbing up the learning curve, the quality of your shaves may be significantly worse than you can do with a disposable. You will also probably cut yourself at least once, despite repeated warnings to go slowly and carefully. Most of the men on the straight razor forums have. But once you have mastered the straight (which typically takes around 100 shaves), you will be able to consistently give yourself a shave that's far better than any shave you've ever had before.

ingredients provide therapeutic properties to the skin and mean that razor burn and ingrown hairs are avoided, while nicks and cuts are prevented and healed. We are committed to eliminating even a trace of alcohol, synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances or other ingredients that can be harmful when absorbed into the skin.
To achieve the perfect shave The Art of Shaving re-introduces you to an essential shaving tool, the shaving brush—the only tool designed to absorb water and deliver a rich, warm and protective lather to the skin. To complete
the experience The Art of Shaving creates beautifully handcrafted shaving razors. These shaving instruments are carefully designed to offer proper weight, balance and grip to ensure the best results.

Virtual Reality Cycling
The aim of this project was to explore the development of an interactive guided imagery display to be used initially by both the staff and residents of Milford Care Centre Limerick. Now completed, it can potentially be used by anyone for exercise and recreation. On the 3rd of December 2009, the Interaction Design Centre at the University of Limerick received an email from the head of the art department in Milford hospice asking about the possibility of a student or a number of students to collaborate on an idea for a project to enable residents and visiting patients of Milford Hospice with a sense of escapism in the physiotherapy room, as the room itself has no ground level windows leaving the current palliative and elderly users feeling trapped in their environment as well as their illness. For the purposes of demonstration, the completed project itself features an interactive display, linked to a stationary bike allowing users to cycle through Google Streetview, with 360º navigation using a Nintendo Wii Remote. The set up may also be used to display pre recorded video landscapes and virtual environments. This project has shown how accessible and inexpensive virtual reality rehabilitative environments can be as it was built and programmed using all off the shelf, freely available, open source software and the device itself can be attached to any stationary or assistive bike.
